about

solace in sound was a project I wanted to make for a long time. i have an often disordered, erratic thought process that leads to me often coming up with little snippets in my brain. sounds, songs i want to make, samples which ii wish existed. this project came to fruition when i had reached a point in making music where hearing the same sounds was not fulfilling in the same way anymore. to have fun and receive the satisfactions that i used to get, i decided to stop fighting myself, and be honest with my ideas, and instead of making projects that tailor to certain genres for certain projects (as you know i have kozo and zekoiko, but there are others as well) and making whatever came to my head that day, or writing lyrics about whatever was happening at that time (which is why i marked the days, I have a really bad and honestly fading memory so it helps to know why i made the songs and what day it was when i did that). what resulted were these smaller songs, sometimes only being like thirty seconds, and i'd just keep adding to them, wanting to combine different ideas from that day into one track. so i added transitions and next thing you know every song became this "audio diary" of that day, with different songs, different moods, different thoughts, but i knew it was something that i found comfort in. so i kept going (and still do so) until i had a loooooooot of shit to release, and after fighting myself on how to release it, decided that it didnt matter if kozo made a project that wasnt straight up ambient or drone.

this album is forever my favorite project. i've been making music a few years now, and it really took facing a lot of hard shit in that time to get to the point where I would just be willing to make whatever the fuck i wanted and release it. I dealt with a lot of the process of making this album and it healed me it kept me safe, i hope that, even if it does sound like a disjointed mess or some pretentious bullshit, that you listen to it and just one part of any track in this whole catalog gives you something you can be healed by, anything, this was a project made with love, with the sole intention of giving love

to the people who listen to me (not many, but a loving loving group) i can express nothing but love for you, and if this project is not for you, im sorry, but i do hope something in here works for you.

shit is cool at this moment, and i hope it is for you too <3
